As your child's first teacher, you play a big part in how well your son or daughter does in school.
We believe each child is unique and we will strive to meet all their individual needs to ensure they get a great start in their first school.
Based in the picturesque village of Hail Weston, close to St Neots, Hail Weston Pre-School Activity Group enjoys beautiful scenic surroundings including St Nicholas' Church which is close by.
We take children from 2-years-old until they go off to school when they are 4. We have one classroom so all of the children play, learn and explore together. Mixed-age learning has enormous benefits for all children as the younger children tend to mimic the older children which can bring them on leaps and bounds! And the older children can become nurturing and caring toward the younger children, and they learn that sometimes they must be mindful and adapt their behaviour to accommodate others. This social learning is key in the early years of a child's life.
We can have up to 28 children per session and we have ample staff so that children have adequate attention and safeguarding. This is a relatively small pre-school class size and this allows us to give children the space, resources and adult attention they need to develop, learn and thrive, something we pride ourselves on.
We are a committee-run pre-school. The committee are responsible for fundraising and supporting the pre-school management team, as well as lots of other things. They are the backbone of the pre-school, and they are all parents! We are always on the look out for new committee members!
The teachers and committee at Hail Weston Pre-School are united in their belief that all children:
Have the power to learn
Are curious & creative
Have their own ways of doing things
No two children are the same. At Hail West Pre-school we recognise that all children reach milestones at different times and that they all learn in different ways. We support children's learning based on their individual needs. Each child will be assigned a key person who will monitor their learning and development throughout their time at pre-school. They will use their professional knowledge to ensure that each child is developing and learning in a way that works for them.
The pre-school is committed to creating the best possible start for our children with a safe, secure, happy and stimulating environment. We have a high ratio of staff to children, which makes it possible to offer a great deal of individual care and attention.
We know that your pre-school choice is incredibly important so we welcome all prospective parents and their children to visit Hail Weston, meet the staff and see a session in progress.
Please feel free to contact us and arrange a visit – we look forward to welcoming you.
